Calorimeters are important because they help measure the heat and monitor the temperatures of chemical reactions. The bomb calorimeter has high level of automation which can be used in many applications. All the needed process excluding the sample preparation for determining the GCV of a solid or liquid sample can be done by the calorimeter. A single bomb covers the GCV as low as 375 kcal/kg and as high as 12000 kcal/kg. The bombs available are normal bomb and special halogen-resistant bombs.

Desiccators

Desiccators are sealed canisters or cabinets that absorb moisture. Once a moisture-sensitive object is placed inside the desiccator with the desiccant (or drying agent), the object will remain dry. These canisters or cabinets are sometimes referred to as desiccant dryers or desiccant dehumidifiers. We offer both vacuum desiccators and nonvacuum desiccators. Vacuum desiccators usually have a built-in stopcock which allows the internal air to be evacuated to achieve lower humidity levels using a separate vacuum pump.

The bottletop dispenser serves to distribute smaller volumes of reagents and other solutions from large storage bottles and jugs. Essentially, the bottletop dispenser consists of a seal, a pump, a volume controller, and a spout. Some bottletop dispensers offer other features, such as programmable distribution to speed up repeated volume dispensing or a low-profile design to conserve valuable lab space. For interchangeable use, select a bottletop dispenser that is autoclavable.

We offer a complete line of electrophoresis products including horizontal and vertical gel electrophoresis systems, reagents, imaging systems, and power supplies. Gel electrophoresis is a method by which DNA, RNA, or proteins are separated by electric current typically in an agarose gel. Agarose gels are cast and placed in a gel box with buffer. The sample is pipetted into wells cast into the gels and the electric current is applied to the system. The electric current causes the molecules to move through the gel at different rates depending on their mass and mass to charge ratio. Once complete, staining of the molecules within the gel allow for visibility by the researcher. If the molecules are able to fluoresce, an image of the gel and molecular movement can be taken.

Flame photometers are used to analyze an inorganic chemical to determine the concentration of certain metal ions, among them sodium, potassium, lithium, and calcium. Group 1 and Group 2 metals are good candidates for flame photometry due to their low excitation energies. Flame photometry is an inexpensive option to flame emission spectroscopy. When selecting one for your needs, look at the measuring range, number of elements, sensitivity, reproducibility, linearity, aspiration rate, reading stabilization, air supply, recorder output, and fuel supply.

Fluid Bed Dryers

Fluid Bed Dryers are ideal for drying fine powders, coarse particles, crystals, granules, and slurries. Drying times for fluid bed dryers are much shorter than conventional methods such as ovens or vacuum drying, due to the high heat and mass transfer rates. A stream of air is heated and passes upwards through a bed of material causing the material to expand and then become suspended and agitated to form a fluidized bed. The turbulence of the particles ensures uniform and efficient drying.

Refractometers

Refractometers are instruments used for measuring concentrations of aqueous solutions. A refractometer requires only a few drops of liquid. When light enters the liquid, the light changes directions. This is called a refraction. A refractometer measures the degree to which the light changes direction, called the angle of refraction. A refractometer takes the refraction angles and correlates them to refractive index (nD) values that have been established. Using these values, you can determine the concentrations of solutions. Shakers

Laboratory shakers are the preferred method for blending samples inside tubes and flasks. Precision shaking motion is essential for many lab applications, but not all shakers perform the same task. The most commonly used orbital shaker provides a smooth continuous motion for uniform mixing. For a side-to-side motion with simple agitation, choose a reciprocating shaker or dual-action shaker. Delicate samples require a rotating motion. If you want to duplicate the effect of hand mixing, select the wrist-action shaker. The rocking tool creates a gentle uniform mixing with its see-saw motion. We have a wide variety of shakers to provide you with the exact shaking motion your application requires.

Thermal Cyclers

Thermal cyclers, also known as PCR machine or DNA amplifiers, can run numerous PCR samples simultaneously. Low-throughput thermocyclers can run between 20 and 48 wells. They can be less costly and require less bench space. Medium through-put thermal cyclers are the most common, allowing between 48 and 96 wells. High-throughput has 384 wells are required in some circumstances. Some thermal cyclers incorporate a gradient function, allowing different temperatures to be applied in various parts of the block. If the goal is uniform temperature across the entire thermal cycler block, a standard thermal cycler with no thermal gradient is adequate.

Ultrasonic Cleaners

Ultrasonic cleaners use sounds waves between 20 and 400 kHz to clean objects. An industrial ultrasonic cleaner usually relies on cavitations caused by the ultrasonic waves to perform the cleaning. Solvents with lower surface tensions will produce greater cleaning action. Choose a solvent your contaminants are soluble in. A higher frequency ultrasonic cleaner is generally capable of cleaning with greater detail and a bit more gently. A low frequency ultrasonic cleaner is generally considered a coarse instrument. We have a variety of ultrasonic cleaners ideal for your samples. Typical samples processed by ultrasonic cleaners include hard metals, ceramics, glass, and plastic.

Cleanroom vacuums can be more efficient and effective in the battle for a sterile environment than even the popular wipe down method. When you use a cleanroom vacuum outfitted with an a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter exhaust stream, the cleanroom vacuum retains particles without the problem of releasing them back into the atmosphere. Many cleanroom vacuums feature a multi-stage filtration system that includes a large main filter to ensure even airflow, a HEPA filter that is 99.97% efficient at removing particles down to 0.3 microns in size, and a disposable bag. For improved cleanliness, some cleanroom vacuums can use an optional ultra low penetration air (ULPA) filter for 99.999% efficiency down to particle size of 0.12 microns.
